Prof. Sergio Damas received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Granada, where he is a professor in the Dept. of Languages and Systems. He is currently on leave of absence to work as a Research Associate at the European Centre for Soft Computing (ECSC), where he is the principal investigator of the research unit "Applications of Evolutionary Algorithms and Fuzzy Logic". His research interests include evolutionary computing, fuzzy systems, information science, imaging, vision, and computational intelligence.Prof. Oscar Cordón received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Granada. He is the principal investigator of the research unit "Applications of Fuzzy Logic and Evolutionary Algorithms" at the European Centre for Soft Computing. He has participated in 20 research projects and contracts funded by the European Commission, the Spanish Ministry, the Government of Andalusia, Asturias, the University of Granada and private enterprise. His main research areas are soft computing for forensic anthropology and medical imaging; information retrieval; and evolutionary computing.
